Nice pots, the blue and brown earth tones make them very versatile for just about anything. My preference would be a shohin elm, maple, or on the tropical side, either a ficus, fukien tea, or natal plum, etc.
Where did you get them ? They almost look like Sarah Rayner pots, BTW, I think she is scheduled to be at the MABS show this year.

Outstanding pots, top one looks like a Don Gould, shame he was quite an artist.
If you have too much trouble finding something to put in them I'll give you my address ;))

How big are your bad boy pots? I'm guessing too big for shohin based on the 3 wiring holes. Got any large dawn redwood or bald cypress? Great pots. The crackle finish really gives a rustic effect. A bold tree, maybe bunjin larch would be wonderful.
We will be collecting larch in our area again in early Spring !!!

Hey Dave, we never heard any more about these great pots. Where are you hiding them? What's the story? Want to sell?

Hey Tom, I have them on lockdown! Honestly, They are rather expensive, I got a few more that are quality hand made that could be for sale. I'll bring them to the show on Sunday.

Ahh yes. Dave tells me that these are Dale Cochoy pots, and that the larger one (first photo) is for Dave's 'larch-in-training' which will be featured in our show. The repotting won't be this year. But the pairing of tree and pot should produce a quality bonsai.
The smaller crackled pot might be used for a future literati Ponderosa pine. Can hardly wait to see these - but it will be a while.
